1. Agreement to Terms
By creating an account, placing an order, or using any part of the Dearest Guest service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of another person (e.g., a couple), you represent that you have the authority to bind them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Service Description
Dearest Guest is an automated SMS messaging service for weddings. We send personalized text messages to your wedding guests on your behalf — reminders, day-of coordination, thank-you notes, and more — based on the schedule and content you configure during setup.
All messages are reviewed by our team before delivery. We reserve the right to modify message content or timing to ensure compliance with carrier regulations, applicable laws, and delivery best practices. We will notify you if significant changes are needed.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use this Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
4. Payment & Pricing
- Pricing. Service pricing is $3 per guest, based on your guest count at the time of purchase, with a $99 minimum order. All prices are in USD.
- One-time payment. Your payment is a one-time charge processed securely through Stripe. Your plan includes all selected message types for all confirmed guests.
- Add-ons. Optional add-ons (Shadow Mode, Reply Forwarding, Emoji Messages, Photo/MMS Messages) are $10 each and are charged at checkout.
- Change requests. Two complimentary change-request batches are included with every order. Additional change requests are billed at $0.50 per message affected. Expedited change requests (under 24-hour turnaround) incur a $30 fee.
- Guest count adjustments. If your final guest count exceeds the count you paid for, you will be charged $3 per additional guest before messages are sent. If your final count is lower, contact us for a partial refund (see Refund Policy below).
5. Refund Policy

Not happy? Get a full refund within 7 days of purchase, as long as no messages have been sent yet. No questions asked.
- Full refund — within 7 days, no messages sent. If you request a refund within 7 calendar days of your payment date and no messages have been delivered to your guests, you will receive a full refund to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.
- Partial refund — guest count reduction. If your final guest count is lower than what you originally paid for, you may request a partial refund for the difference at any time before messages begin sending.
- After messages have been sent. Once messages have been delivered to your guests, refunds are provided at our sole discretion. We may offer a partial refund or credit if there was a service failure on our end (e.g., messages not delivered due to a system error).
- Non-refundable items. Change-request fees and expedite fees are non-refundable once the work has been completed.
- How to request a refund. Email us at dearestguest@cloudybook.com with your order details. We aim to respond within 1 business day.
6. Guest Privacy & Consent
- Your responsibility. You represent and warrant that you have obtained appropriate consent from each guest before providing their phone number to us. You must have a personal relationship with each recipient (i.e., they are an invited guest to your wedding).
- Opt-out. All guests can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Once a guest opts out, no further messages will be sent to them.
- Data handling. Guest phone numbers and names are used solely for wedding communication and are not shared with third parties beyond our SMS delivery provider (Twilio). We delete guest data within 30 days after your wedding date. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
7. Message Review & Delivery
- Review process. All messages are personally reviewed by our team before being scheduled for delivery. We review for accuracy, carrier compliance, and quality. Review typically takes 24–48 hours.
- Delivery. We make every commercially reasonable effort to deliver messages on time and to all valid phone numbers. However, message delivery depends on carrier networks, phone number validity, and recipient device availability.
- No delivery guarantee. We cannot guarantee delivery to every recipient in every case. International phone numbers may have different delivery characteristics and success rates.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for legitimate wedding guest communication. You may not:
- Use the Service to send unsolicited messages, spam, or marketing content
- Provide phone numbers of individuals who are not your wedding guests
- Include content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable
- Attempt to circumvent our message review process
- Resell or redistribute the Service
We reserve the right to refuse service or cancel orders that violate this policy, with a full refund provided in such cases.
9. Intellectual Property
All content, branding, and technology comprising the Service are owned by Dearest Guest. Message templates provided by us are licensed for your personal wedding use only. Your custom message content remains yours.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dearest Guest shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service, including but not limited to:
- Messages that fail to deliver due to carrier issues, invalid phone numbers, or recipient device problems
- Delays in message delivery or review
- Any actions taken by guests in response to messages
Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dearest Guest from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your failure to obtain proper consent from your wedding guests.
12. Termination
You may cancel your order at any time by contacting us, subject to the Refund Policy above. We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, with notice provided to you via the email address on file.
13. Dispute Resolution
If a dispute arises, we encourage you to contact us first at dearestguest@cloudybook.com so we can try to resolve it directly. Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally shall be governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in New Jersey.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when these Terms were last revised.
